NASCAR Leagues
Almost time for the new NASCAR season. Keep watch for the email invitation.
A few changes to the scoring system
Welcome,
Our racing games follow NASCAR's Cup Series. We use a "pick once" style with points based on the finish position.
Our games are a private group of friends and friends of friends, Strobel started this one some years ago and I joined in later after Millhouse invited me. Our players are scattered and if you have a friend you would like to invite, we're okay with that.
Expand the sections below to see how our games are played.
As usual, awards depend on the number of players. No house cut. More players mean more and higher awards, so recruit your friends.
cheers,GregE

Full Season League
During the regular season, you can pick a driver just once. At the start of the playoffs, we set the field for our Championship award and reset to the playoff drivers.
We have awards for 1st-5th, BestMan and LowMan depending on the number of players. Fee for the game is just $25.
Rules
ENTRY: To enter the game, the first week the pick form will ask for this additional registration information.
Your Email is your contact for info and updates. If you are a new player, don’t get this wrong.
Your Real Name, this helps in managing contacts and payments.
A Cell Phone Number that may be used for urgent text reminders or messages if there is an issue with your entry.
Your Connection/Other Info refers to how you are connected to our games. New members must let us know who invited you to our game, it will be verified. Returning players with new contact information, changing either your player name, or email, please describe the change.
The Player name you wish to use. Please use something other than your normal name. Our games have lots of players and we need unique player names. If you enter a common name, it may be changed to avoid conflicts.
HOW WE PLAY:
Each race pick a driver using the Weekly Pick form.
During the regular season (first 26 races), players can pick a driver only once.
During the playoffs (last 10 races), available drivers are reset to the playoff drivers. Players can pick a playoff driver only once.
Players are responsible for ensuring they don't submit duplicates. To help, a status check link is provided in the confirmation message and in the Picks sheet.
Pick deadlines are set to the TV scheduled time from NASCAR.com at the beginning of the season. Picks are automatically posted at the deadline. Picks received after the deadline are marked late. Late picks are ignored and shown only in the Picks sheet.
Reschedules for earlier start times will be sent in the pick reminders and shown in the spreadsheets on Schedule & Picks sheets.
Postponements will not change the pick deadline.
Late and duplicate picks do not earn points.
PLAYOFFS to the Championship. Playoff reset points are no longer used.
At the end of the regular season, the top 16 ranked players compete for the Championship title. All other awards, 2nd-5th, BestMan and LowMan can still be earned by any player.
Like NASCAR, there will be 3 rounds of 3 races and the final Championship race. The Playoff sheet will track the advancements and eliminations by round. Picking a winning driver in a round awards eligible players with a round win. At the end of each elimination round, players advance on a round win pick, then rank. 4 players are eliminated in each round. If more players have a round win pick than the next round allows, rank is the tiebreaker.
For the Championship award, the eligible player picking the driver with the best finish position at the final race wins the Championship. If there are multiple best picks by eligible players, the Championship award uses ranking as the tiebreaker.
SCORING / RANKINGS:
Driver points (pts) are based on official NASCAR position results ( 1st - 40 pts, 2nd - 39pts, 3rd - 38 pts, ... 40th - 1pt ). Race results are shown in the spreadsheet, sheet RaceDB.
Wins are awarded each race to the player(s) that pick the winning driver.
Bests are awarded each race to the player(s) that pick the best position driver among players' picks.
Lows are awarded each race to the player(s) that pick the lowest position driver among players' picks.
Players are awarded points from their drivers’ points along with bonus points for Wins, 3pts, & Bests, 2pts.
Player rankings are based on points, wins, bests and lows.
Again, Duplicates are attempts to use a driver a second time. Duplicates and late picks are ignored, no points earned, and will only show in the Picks sheet.
TIEBREAKERS: Ties in ranking for advancing in the playoffs and within playoff rounds will use the most recent race results to break ties, and so on till the tie is broken. This does not apply to Awards.
Entry Fee
ENTRY FEE IS $25 AND DUE ON ENTRY: The Sign up and Entry form’s confirmation message and the submission receipt email includes the link to the payment info.
Awards
Awards are 100% of all entry fees, there is no house cut.
The number of awards is based on the number of entry fees received, normally, 1st - 5th and 2 consolation awards with sufficient players. The awards breakout sheet is included in the spreadsheet.
LowMan: Each race the player(s) that earns the least points (non-zero) is awarded a low. LowMan runs for the entire season. In the event of a tie, the player with the lowest rank wins the award. However, any player with a zero points race automatically loses the tie-breaker. The LowMan award is one entry fee and is contingent on the number of players.
BestMan: Each race the player(s) that earns the most points is awarded a best. BestMan runs for the entire season. In the event of a tie, the player with the highest rank the award. Like the LowMan award, the BestMan award is a consolation prize. Players winning the Championship, 2nd or 3rd place awards are not eligible. The BestMan award is one entry fee and is contingent on the number of players.
The League's intent is never to split awards. In the unlikely event of an absolute tie for first place, the first and second place payouts are combined and split evenly with no second place payout. The same process applies to the lower awards if applicable.
2025 Changes: The playoff player points reset is removed. All players are eligible for 2nd-5th awards.
Team Challenge
This is played as a sub-game of the full season game. Four players join together to form a team and compete against other teams. Team members' picks in the Full Season League are combined to determine the winning team. Good fun and you get to rip your friends for killing your team. The fee is $60 for a team.
Rules
ENTRY:
To create a team, a player acting as the Team Captain must email GregE the following information:
Team Name
Team members' player names, 4 in total
Team members must be playing in the Full Season League. Players can only be on one team.
Team sponsors must submit their team prior to the first race. Entries after the start of the first race will not be accepted. Changes to the team members are not accepted.
HOW TO PLAY:
Team members' picks in the Full Season League are used for the Team Challenge.
Play will be for the entire 36 race season.
SCORING & RANKINGS:
Points earned by each team member are the same points as earned in the Full Season League.
Team member race points are combined for the team total.
Rankings and place finishes are based on total points.
Weekly wins will be used as the tie-breaker if necessary. A weekly win is the team that scores the most points for the week.
If you tanked a race, I'm sure your team mates are pissed, but you can continue to submit picks towards your team total.
Entry Fees
Entry fee is $60 and due on entry. Team members may individually pay their portion with their Full Season fee. However, the team captain is ultimately responsible and should coordinate how the fee is paid.
Awards
Awards are 100% of all entry fees. There is no house cut.
The number of awards is based on the number of entry fees received.
The intent is never to split the award, however in the event of absolute ties, the award(s) will be split evenly.
Toyota Carl's DASH for Cash League
The DASH League starts with the playoffs. Just 10 races with only playoff drivers. It's a good chance to make up for bad picks and bad luck in the full season game. It's the same "pick once" style. Fee for the game is just $25.
